Now, I'm not musically inept or anything - I've played in the orchestra for about six or seven years now - but I've never tried to play the cello.
So my orchestra has a recital coming up and my ensemble needed a cello. And I thought, hey, why not learn the cello by throwing myself in head first and see how it goes? Ah, yeah, about that. I practiced for a good hour after I got home, and man did my fingers hurt. Going from viola to cello is a very... interesting experience.
After I let my fingers sing a bit more, my friend called me over for pizza and a movie. Now, many of my friends, including her, were shocked and appaled when I mentioned I had never seen any of the Batmans, the Hulk, Fight Club, and didn't know the whole Star Wars saga in detail. So I was getting more culture shock by watching The Dark Knight. Personally, Batman Begins is my favorite out of the two, but both were pretty darn awesome.
I guess watching Heath Ledger was... weird for me, considering what's happened to date. Still, a good movie, and one I would recomend.
